SWITCH-Med Programme launches its brand new web platform www.switchmed.eu on the 5th of June, which is the World Environment Day, a day for celebrating awareness on environmental issues worldwide and encouraging political action.
SWITCH-Med shares the actions that are being developed under the programme for a productive, circular and sharing economy in the Mediterranean through this user-friendly interactive website. Policy makers, green entrepreneurs, citizens and civil society organisations, financers, industry, experts, researchers, anyone who contributes to greening the economy in the Mediterranean will find an excellent niche in this site.
"The unique feature of the SWITCH-Med web platform is our orientation around actions on the ground. We provide quick and easy access to information on activities involving our main target groups within our target countries", says Burcu Tunçer, Team Leader Networking Facility Component. "Our aim is not only to inform but also to involve our audience. That is why we are very excited to offer the new SWITCH-Med Action Network, which is a community of practice that aims at enhancing the networking and the establishment of strategic partnerships. So join us!". By signing up as a member you will be able to meet the people behind the actions, participate in facilitated in-country stakeholder dialogues, discuss collective solutions, chat online with key players, share files and post news and events.
The flagship SWITCH-Med web platform will be providing daily news updates. The actions in the stakeholder corners (policy-maker, entrepreneurs, civil society) will be updated monthly. Navigating between the latest entrepreneurial stories, business and policy trends in the Mediterranean, circular economy projects and grassroots innovations is made easy and finding more content that appeals to you is just a click away.
SWITCH-Med is a replication of an already ongoing programme SWITCH-Asia and funded by the EU. The regional implementing partners are United Nations Industrial Development Organisations (UNIDO), Mediterranean Action Plan for the Barcelona Convention (UNEP/MAP), Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC) and UNEP Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (UNEP-DTIE). The target countries are Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Algeria and Libya.
