Second BAT4MED Experts Group meeting successfully held in Brussels

On 6 February 2013 took place in Brussels the second meeting with the experts identified in the project BAT4MED (Best Available Techniques Boosting in the Mediterranean Partner Countries), co-financed with European funds through the Seventh Framework Programme for R & D and led by IAT.


Indeed, one of the validation mechanism of the project is the endorsement of the project outputs by the BAT4MED Expert Group composed by the following representatives of the field of IPPC from the European Commission and the Spanish, French and Italian Ministries of Environment: Serge Roudier (European IPPC Bureau, European Commission JRC-Prospective Technological Institute for Studies, IPTS), Carmen Canales (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, MAGRAMA), Alfredo Pini (Istituto Superiore per la Ricerca e la Protezione Ambientale ISPRA) and Gaucher Rudolph (Institut National de l'environnement Industriel et de Risques, INERIS).


The meeting was hosted by VITO, work package leader on the elaboration of Best Available Techniques sectorial reports (BAT reports), in the premises of the Flemish Europe Liaison Agency in Brussels. The aim of this meeting was the validation of the BAT reports elaborated by VITO and SSSUP with the help of the national Technical Working Groups in Mediterranean Partner Country (Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt) for the textile and dairy sectors


During the meeting, the experts along with IAT and the European partners of the project discussed the most relevant technical aspects of these documents which purpose is to help the implementation of Best Available Techniques in the Mediterranean countries participating to the project.
