Webinar Announcement: Bringing Mediterranean islands together to stop plastic pollution through the BeMed initiative

• Join the event to bring Mediterranean islands together to stop plastic pollution. SCP/RAC and SMILO implement a capitalization process for island-focused BeMed supported projects, and this webinar will serve to build bridges with related initiatives across the region.    
• Public authorities, businesses, associations and academia concerned by plastic pollution in islands are welcome to attend.
• The webinar takes place during the Monaco Ocean Week 

Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) recently granted five projects targeting specifically Mediterranean islands, which will sum up to other BeMed supported projects to tackle plastic leakage. Likewise, a number of regional and national initiatives and policies are addressing prevention of plastic pollution in islands.

In this context, BeMed trusted SCP/RAC and SMILO to conduct a capitalisation process (CapiMed-Islands project) that would increase the impact of its projects, as well as building synergies with related initiatives.  

The Monaco Ocean Week offers a great window to kick-off this process. The webinar will introduce these BeMed initiatives to a wide audience and seek for synergies with related initiatives.
