SCP/RAC invites you to the STAND Up! Accelerator, a web conference to help you growing your circular economy business in the textile and fashion industry in the Med.

28 février 2021

ARC-SCP/RAC as lead partner of the EU-funded STAND Up! project is glad to invite you to the web conference on how to grow your circular business in the Textile and Fashion Industry in the Mediterranean, that will take place on Thursday 4th March 2021 at 4pm – 5pm (CET).

Under the ENI CBC Med programme, the STAND UP! project intends to support textile entrepreneurs and eco-innovative ventures in 5 countries (Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Spain and Tunisia) and help them seize the business opportunities that the green evolution will generate. To achieve this ambitious goal, the project will undertake many actions in training, financial grants, market stimulation, technology transfer, IPR protection, etc…

To do so, the project is launching the Growing Innovation program that will be organized in 4 phases and that will focus on green business model development, early-stage incubation, access to finance and international markets in 5 Mediterranean countries, following the methodology developed by SCP/RAC under the SwitchMed Programme.

One web-conference to kick start the activities:

The specific objective of the web conference is to present and inform about the business support services that will be provided by the project partners and the “Call for green entrepreneurs” opened on February 15h designed to deliver a 2-month capacity-building programme tailored to support them in developing their green business models.

The web conference will also introduce the circular trends and circular business opportunities and models in the textiles and fashion sector in the Mediterranean, showcasing successful circular business ventures of the textile and fashion sectors.

More information on the project and the detailed agenda are available also on STAND Up! web site http://www.enicbcmed.eu/projects/stand-up

The event will be streamed online on STAND Up! Facebook page on the 4th of March at 4pm – 5pm CET

Registration for the event is recommended: please click here.

More about: SCP/RAC’s vision for the textile & fashion industry and the circular economy in the Mediterranean:

  • In November 2020, SCP/RAC, through SwitchMed had launched a publication focusing on the different strategies to help achieve a transition to circular economy in the south Mediterranean textile and fashion industry. This publication, which is the result of a collaboration between SCP/RAC and the BCSD Turkey, enables a comprehensive analysis of the replicability of the different business models presented in the document.
  • SCP/RAC has the specific mission of supporting eco-innovation in entrepreneurs and SMEs. Accordingly, the centre develops a programme providing training, coaching and advisory services including the design of a specific and innovative training package, under the SwitchMed programme. This methodology is being used under the ENI CBC Med projects: GIMED and STAND Up!
  • To achieve its mission, SCP/RAC provides knowledge, training, advice and networking opportunities to governments, businesses, entrepreneurs, financial agents and civil society organizations to adopt eco-design and eco-innovation as strategic approaches to boost businesses competitiveness in the market.
  • These activities are leading to the consolidation of The Switchers, a growing community facilitated by SCP/RAC of Mediterranean entrepreneurs and businesses (today up to 300) that are leading the shift to green and socially inclusive economies in the Mediterranean region.
