Alternatives Identification and Assessment Training on Hazardous Chemicals

The UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) is organizing in collaboration with SUBSPORT a training session on "Alternative Identification and Assessment on Hazardous Chemicals" that will be held in Barcelona on 13th December 2011.

The goal of the SUBSPORT project is to develop an internet portal that constitutes a state-of-the-art resource on safer alternatives to the use of hazardous chemicals. In addition, the project aims to create a network of experts and stakeholders who are active in substitution.

The "Alternatives Identification and Assessment on Hazardous Chemicals" training will provide participants with basic concepts and tools to facilitate the substitution of hazardous chemicals in products and processes with safer alternatives.  The training has been designed for authorities, industry, trade unions, NGOs and other interested parties in substitution of hazardous chemicals in products and processes with safer alternatives.

The training will take place in the main offices of the Waste Agency of Catalonia, Barcelona (Spain). The workshop will be given in English and the maximum number of participants attending will be 20.
