The objectives of the Meeting are to review the activities developed by CP/RAC to promote SCP in the Mediterranean, to review the progress made in the development of the Policy Component of the SWITCH-Med project and to discuss and approve the programme of work of the Center for the biennium 2014-2015 to further support the Mediterranean countries in the shift to SCP. The recommendations resulting from the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development (MCSD) meeting will be also presented and discussed.
In parallel, the MED POL NFP Meeting will be held in Barcelona from the 18th to 21st of June. Taking advantage of this, some sessions will be jointly held related to topics involving collaboration of both organizations.
The working languages of the meeting will be English and French and this event will be organized and carried out in a sustainable way, which means that paper will be minimized to maximum.
In addition to the CP/RAC official Focal Points, the invitation to participate in the Meeting is being extended to specialized agencies of the United Nations, the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention, other governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as to the international professional organizations and associations whose activities are relevant for the work of CP/RAC.
