9th October 2011 | Updated: 21st October 2011

On 24th of November 2011 Barcelona will host the 5th Mediterranean Green Economy Forum, ECOMEDA GREEN FORUM 2011, under the motto “Think Green”.

The ECO MEDA GREEN FORUM has become the most specialized networking event in renewable energy and green economy in the Mediterranean. It brings together key industry players and experts of the highest level to discuss how the integration of the environment as a factor in business competitiveness can become the engine of global economic recovery and transition to sustainable economies. The highly structured program promotes proliferation and understanding of the industry and acts as an excellent platform for doing business.

The main objective is to promote the exchange of knowledge between experts regarding the priorities and challenges of the environment, and to promote the green economy, helping companies implement sustainability programs through the efficient use of resources and cleaner production.

The ECO MEDA GREEN FORUM aims to address the business needs in terms of profitability and competitiveness, while understanding the environment as a fundamental part of company strategy. By creating a framework for discussion and reflection among the senior experts and key actors in the public and private sectors, the forum aims to provide relevant information to policy makers who have to implement the priorities of the Union for the Mediterranean, while promoting the green economy for companies.

The Forum will open with an overview of the advantages for the companies of integrating the environment in their business strategy, from various sectors relevant to the Mediterranean. The other sessions will focus on three key environmental and economic challenges for the Mediterranean: urban planning, solid waste and energy. For each of them, speakers will highlight success stories in the sector and opportunities for the green economy and green investment.

Access to the sessions is free upon registration on the website www.medaeconomicweek.org/register
