Industrial Sectors

The key objective of all of it is to provide information through the publication of news of practical cases implanted in the companies of the Mediterranean Region and to edit material that could help  to popularization.

As examples of the industrial sectors that the Centre of Regional Activity for Cleaner Production works with, based on the different materials and tools produced to inform of the news in the world of cleaner production in the Mediterranean Region, we would find the following:

MedClean Cards

The MedClean cards gather practical cases of actions to minimize the waste and the emissions produced by the companies in the countries that belong to the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP). The publication of these practical cases intends to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge and simultaneously to spread examples of practical application of cleaner production in the companies of the Mediterranean region.   

The MedCleans by industrial sectors, which are the ones that we currently count on, are the most representative of the Mediterranean Region:

Databases of technologies and experts

The Center of Regional Activity for Cleaner Production has developed a databasis of technologies by sector that compiles the different viable alternatives of prevention of pollution in different industrial sectors. 

This database is structured by sectors, processes, waste currents and types of technology with the aim of facilitating research.

Today, the databases of technologies gather more than 300 entries with information of the textile, paper, iron, tanned skin, surface treatment, discontinuous chemicals, food and agriculture, and beverages sectors. New sectors are added every year.  

Likewise, the Center of Regional Activity for Cleaner Production has developed a database of Mediterranean experts that counts on more than 150 experts as well as professionals of the region, specialized in the prevention of pollution, specifying their areas of expertise and knowledge as well as their contact details. 

Sectorial Research Studies:

They are research studies that analyze in detail one industrial sector, presenting its situation and trends, in each one of the countries in the Mediterranean region.

These studies are a tool to support  the introduction of ecoefficiency in the industries. They describe the productive processes, as well as their environmental impact and they propose viable options for the prevention of pollution.
