In the framework of the EC funded H2020 CB/MEP Initiative, the SCP/RAC organized in collaboration with SWITCH-Med programme (UNEP/DTIE) a new training on Green Economy and Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), on the 25-26th March in Amman (Jordan).
On 3rd and 4th April 2014 took place in Brussels the Services for Sustainable Conference which aimed to present SPREE project current results to partners and to new stakeholders potentially interested in the "Servicizing Systems”.
The committee of the Stockholm Convention set up to select projects submitted by its Regional Centers for the annual call of the "Small Grant Project" (a fund created by the government of Norway with the objective to implement discrete project activities assisting Parties to meet their obligations under the Convention) has selected one of the projects presented by SCP/RAC to support green entrepreneurs to be funded with 40 thousand dollars in 2014.
On March 13th 2014, the Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC) received the visit from a delegation of the Government of Guatemala, in the framework of the “ADA-Integración” Project of cooperation between the EU and the Central American countries. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala expressed its interest in setting up this meeting with the Centre given its long experience and its functions as Regional Centre for the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).
A national training on Sustainable Stone and Marble Industry was held in Ramallah from 10th to 11th March 2014 in the framework of the EC funded H2020 CP/MEP initiative. The event, organized by SCP/RAC, was attended by around 40 representatives of ministries, NGO’s, businesses and research centres.
